Google Meet Issues

Can’t Join Our Webinar? Here’s How to Fix Common Google Meet Issues. #

Quick note that Seamlss isn’t blocking you – these are Google Meet’s security requirements, and we’ll help you get in quickly.

The Most Common Issue – Google Account Sign-In #

What’s Happening: When you click the Google Meet link, you’re being asked to sign in to a Google account or verify your identity with 2FA (two-factor authentication). This is Google’s security requirement, not Seamlss blocking you from the webinar.

Quick Fix:

  • Use the Google account you registered with (if you have one)
  • Or sign in with any Google account you have access to
  • Complete the 2FA if prompted (it’s a one-time thing)
  • If you don’t have a Google account, see “No Google Account?” section below

No Google Account? #

You have two options:

  1. Create a free Google account (takes 2 minutes)
    • Go to accounts.google.com
    • Click “Create account”
    • Follow the prompts
    • Then use this account to join the webinar
  2. Request to join as a guest (may have limited features)
    • Some webinars allow guest access
    • Click the Meet link and look for “Ask to join” option
    • Our team will admit you when we see your request
    • Note: You may not have access to chat or other features

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Issues #

What’s Happening: Google is asking you to verify your identity with a code sent to your phone or email.

Solutions:

  • Check your phone for an SMS code from Google
  • Check your email for a verification code
  • If you have Google Authenticator app, use that
  • If you can’t access your 2FA method, click “Try another way” on the Google prompt
  • Consider using a different Google account if available

“This Browser Isn’t Supported” Message

What’s Happening: Google Meet works best on Chrome, but also supports Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Quick Fixes:

  • Update your browser to the latest version
  • Try a different browser (Chrome is most reliable)
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Check your browser allows camera/microphone access if needed

“You Can’t Join This Call” Error #

Possible Causes:

  • The webinar hasn’t started yet (join 5-10 minutes before start time)
  • The meeting link has expired
  • Maximum participants reached (rare for our webinars)

What To Do:

  • Double-check the webinar start time in your confirmation email
  • Try the link again in a few minutes
  • If still having issues 5 minutes before start time, contact us: [support email/phone]

Mobile Device Issues #

For iPhone/iPad:

  • Download the Google Meet app from the App Store
  • Open the Meet link in the app (not Safari)
  • Sign in with your Google account
  • Grant camera/microphone permissions when prompted

For Android:

  • Download the Google Meet app from Google Play
  • Open the Meet link in the app
  • Sign in with your Google account
  • Grant camera/microphone permissions when prompted

  • You’re joining 5-10 minutes before the start time

FAQ Section: #

Q: Why can’t Seamlss just use a different platform that doesn’t require Google? We use Google Meet because it’s secure, reliable, and accessible from anywhere on any device without needing to perform updates when joining. While the authentication can be a hurdle first time, it ensures a safe environment for all participants.

Q: Will I need to do this every time? Once you’re signed into your Google account on your device, future webinars should be much quicker to join.

Q: Can I test my connection before the webinar? Yes! Google has a test page at https://meet.google.com/test – use this to check your camera, microphone, and connection.
